Delivery Management

Delivery management for your own drivers.

Running your own fleet turns into a second job on the phone. Eclyde does the dispatch, the tracking and the customer texts, so you're not the one reading out postcodes at half eight.

In short

Eclyde Delivery Management runs a restaurant's own driver fleet. It assigns each order by driver proximity and current load, tracks drivers live on GPS, sends the customer automated status updates, and lets the owner set delivery zones, fees and minimum order values. Restaurants keep more per order than on third-party platforms.

Who takes the next drop?

Right now it's whoever's standing nearest the door, and that's how a job in the next street waits twenty minutes while your fastest driver is out at the edge of the zone with one bag. Eclyde assigns on where the driver actually is, what they're already carrying and whether two orders are heading the same way. You can override any of it when you know something the map doesn't.

  • Assignment by proximity and current load
  • Manual override whenever you want it
  • Two or three drops batched onto one run
  • Driver availability tied to the rota

Live tracking, for you and the customer

One map. Who's free, who's out, who's two minutes from being back. The customer gets a tracking link on their phone, which sounds like a nicety until you notice the calls have stopped. Nobody rings to ask where the food is when they can watch it come up the road.

Setting your zones and your fees

Draw zones by radius or by postcode. Each one gets its own delivery fee, its own minimum order and its own quoted time, so the estate ten minutes out pays for the diesel and the flat above the restaurant doesn't. Set a free delivery threshold if it earns its keep, or block the far side of town entirely.

The customer hears from you, not from your staff

Order in, food on, driver away, nearly there, delivered. Five texts or push messages that go out on their own, and five phone calls your counter staff don't have to take during the Friday rush. Late order? They already know it's late, and they know why.

What this doesn't do

It won't find you drivers, insure them, or sort out their tax status. That's your problem and it's the hard part. Dispatch only earns its keep once you've two or three drivers on at once, because with a single driver there's nothing to decide. If you're doing a handful of deliveries a night, keep them on the platforms for now and move when the volume's there.

Questions, answered straight.

Can I use Eclyde delivery alongside Deliveroo?

Yes, and most sites do at the start. Platform orders drop into the same queue as everything else, so the kitchen doesn't care where an order came from. What changes over time is the mix: every order you shift onto your own drivers keeps the commission in your pocket instead of theirs. Nobody sensible switches the platforms off on day one.

Do drivers need a special app?

They use the Eclyde driver app on their own phone. It shows the drops they've been given, opens navigation, and takes a confirmation at the door. It's deliberately plain, because a driver learning it should take one shift and no training session.

How does zone pricing work?

You define each zone by radius or by postcode, then set the fee, the minimum order and the estimated time for that zone on its own. A customer only sees the price and the wait that apply to their address. Get the minimums right and the awkward orders, small basket, long drive, mostly stop happening by themselves.

How many drivers do I need before this is worth it?

Two or three on at the same time, at a minimum. With one driver there is no dispatch decision to make, so all you are getting is the tracking and the customer texts, which is nice but is not why you would move off the platforms. The maths starts to work when you have enough volume that somebody is otherwise standing at the counter deciding who goes where.

What about driver insurance and employment status?

That is on you and it is the part we cannot take off your plate. Hire and pay drivers, sort their insurance, and get their employment status right with your accountant, because the rules differ between Ireland and the UK and they have changed more than once. Eclyde tracks who did what and when, which helps at the record-keeping end, but it is not advice and it is not a substitute for asking somebody qualified.
