Ireland
Restaurant technology in Ireland, priced in euro.
Most restaurant software sold here was written for a bigger market and translated afterwards. Eclyde was built in Dublin, for Irish restaurants, and it shows in the small things.
In short
Eclyde is a restaurant operating system built in Dublin for the Irish market. It covers the till, commission-free online ordering, kitchen display, delivery with your own drivers, staff scheduling and reporting, priced in euro with VAT set per item and per order type and Stripe-powered payments.

What does building for the Irish market actually change?
The small things that grind on you daily. Prices in euro with no conversion shown to your customer at checkout. VAT set per item and per order type, which matters here more than most places because the rate on food service has moved more than once in recent years and gets argued over at every budget. Reports your accountant can work from without reformatting. And a support line that is awake when your service is, rather than one that opens as you are cashing up.
How does a restaurant outside Dublin trade differently?
The year is a different shape. A room in Dingle, Westport or Killarney can do most of its trade between June and September and shut for the winter, which makes the rota, the stock and the cash flow a completely different problem from a city site that trades evenly all year. Marketplace coverage is thinner outside the cities too, so more restaurants in Cork, Galway, Limerick and the towns run their own drivers because nobody else will. And rural broadband is what it is, which is why the till has to keep working when the line goes.
- The till keeps taking orders offline and syncs when the line returns
- Your own drivers, with zones and quoted times you set
- Seasonal trade visible in your own numbers, not last year's guesswork
- Everything priced in euro, VAT set per item and per order type
How much are the apps taking out of an Irish restaurant?
Commission commonly runs 25 to 30 percent per order when the platform delivers, less if you deliver yourself, and the rate on your own contract is the only one that counts. On a €25 order that is €6 to €7.50 before you have paid for the food. The apps genuinely do find you customers, so the argument is not about leaving them. It is about whether the regular who has ordered the same thing from you every fortnight for two years should still be costing you a quarter of the order.
Who is behind it, and how far along is it?
Eclyde is built in Dublin by people who have worked restaurant floors, which is the reason the kitchen display behaves the way it does and the cash up matches what the till actually took. We are early, we have no published case studies, and we are not going to invent any. Ireland is the home market and the UK is next. If you want a supplier with a long track record, that is a fair thing to want, and we will say so rather than talk you round.
Questions, answered straight.
Not covered here? Just ask us.
Is Eclyde available outside Dublin?
Yes, anywhere in the country. It is cloud-based and runs on standard tablets, so there is nothing regional about the setup. Onboarding outside Dublin is usually done remotely with a longer handover call, and we will be straight with you about what that means compared with someone standing in your kitchen.
Does it handle Irish VAT?
You set the treatment per item and per order type and it applies automatically at the till and online, with clean reports at the other end. When the rate on food service changes again, and it has changed more than once already, you update a setting rather than rebuild your menu.
Is there grant funding for restaurant technology?
Some Enterprise Ireland and Local Enterprise Office programmes support technology adoption for small food businesses, and terms change from year to year, so check current criteria with your own LEO rather than taking our word for it. We can point you at what is worth reading during onboarding.
What happens when the broadband drops in a rural site?
The till keeps taking orders and syncs when the connection returns. Card authorisation needs a line eventually on any system, so if your coverage is genuinely poor, keep a cash float and know your fallback before a busy weekend rather than during one.
Can it handle a seasonal business that closes for winter?
Yes, and you should tell us it is seasonal at the start so the reporting compares like with like. Comparing this July with last July is useful. Comparing July with February in a Kerry town is not, and any system that presents that as a trend is wasting your time.
See it run your restaurant.
Twenty minutes on your menu and your numbers. We'll show you what actually changes in the first month and exactly what it costs. If it's not right for your restaurant, we'll tell you that instead.
- Live in days, not months
- We build your menu and train your staff
- No contract, and thirty days to change your mind
