Eclyde

For Cafes

Keep the morning queue moving.

A cafe lives on speed and regulars. Eclyde is a fast counter till, a loyalty scheme that runs itself, and collection ordering for the people who want their coffee waiting.

In short

Eclyde runs a cafe on one system: a fast counter till with modifiers priced per size and per milk, loyalty that applies itself at checkout, click-and-collect ordering on your own site at 0% commission on the Flat Rate plan, and reporting that shows which hours and which regulars actually carry the week. It costs €59 a month plus 5% per order, or €169 a month billed annually at 0% commission.

How fast is it at the counter?

Eight fifteen, a queue to the door, and everybody in it is going to be late for work. That is the only test a cafe till has to pass. Search finds a drink off two letters, modifiers are one tap deep, and there is no confirmation box between the order and the next customer. A regular's usual comes up attached to their name.

  • Modifiers priced per size and per milk, not a flat surcharge
  • Repeat orders recalled from a name or a phone number
  • Card, contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay on the same screen
  • Keeps taking orders when the broadband drops, then syncs

Does loyalty work without cards or codes?

Yes, and that is the point. Points build up quietly against the customer rather than a paper card, and the reward appears at checkout on its own. Nobody has to remember a card, and nobody behind the counter has to explain a code while six people wait. The tenth coffee is the oldest offer in the trade and it still works; it just should not cost your staff thirty seconds each time.

Is click and collect worth it for a cafe?

For the office crowd, yes. A four-cup order typed on a phone on the walk over is a bigger ticket than the same person queuing, and it lands in your kitchen screen with a collection time on it. Here is the honest limit: cafes see less of this than takeaways do, because a lot of coffee is bought on impulse rather than planned. Treat it as a margin gain on the orders you already get from offices nearby, not as a new demand channel.

What do the numbers tell you that a till roll does not?

Which hours actually pay for the staff on them. Most cafe owners can name their rush and are wrong about its edges by about forty minutes either side, which is exactly where the rota costs money. You also get average spend per customer over a year rather than per visit, which is the number that decides whether a loyalty reward is generous or expensive.

Is Eclyde overkill for a small cafe?

Sometimes, and we will say so on the call. If you run a six-line menu, take two hundred cards a day and do no delivery or collection ordering, a simple counter till like Square is often the right answer and swapping it would waste your money. Eclyde earns its place once you want the customer list, the loyalty and the collection orders joined up.

Can I price oat milk and sizes properly?

Yes. Modifiers price per size and per option, so a large oat flat white is not the same surcharge as a regular one. You set it once and it applies on the till and online together.

Do I need new hardware?

No. Eclyde runs on iPads and Android tablets you can buy in any shop, plus a card reader and a printer. There is no terminal rental contract underneath it.

What does it cost?

€59 a month plus 5% per order, or €169 a month billed annually with no commission per order (€199 if you would rather pay monthly). Every feature is on both plans, there is no setup fee and no contract.
