For Dark Kitchens

One dark kitchen, three brands.

No dining room, no walk-ins, and a rider standing in the doorway every four minutes. Eclyde runs several brands out of one kitchen without three tablets and three separate sets of numbers.

In short

Eclyde runs several brands out of one dark kitchen. Each brand gets its own ordering page, menu and reporting, while every order lands on a single kitchen display with the brand printed on the ticket. Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat orders join the same queue, and sales are reported per brand.

How do you run multiple brands from one kitchen?

The customer sees three restaurants. You see one fryer, one prep list and two chefs. The thing that breaks first is the ticket: the wings brand and the burger brand use the same thigh meat but different boxes, different stickers and different bags, so the brand has to be on the ticket in a size you can read across the pass at nine o'clock. Eclyde prints it there. Prep counts add up across brands, so you defrost once for all three rather than three times for one each, and the kitchen display keeps them in one queue in the order they landed.

  • A separate branded ordering page and menu for each brand
  • One kitchen display, with the brand on every ticket
  • Prep counts totalled across brands so you defrost once
  • Sales and item mix reported per brand, not just per site

How do you handle rider handover with no front of house?

There is nobody on a door to manage this, which is why dark kitchens lose more time at handover than at the pass. The rider is called when the order is marked ready, so mark it ready when it is bagged and stickered, not when it comes out of the fryer. Eclyde shows which orders are sitting waiting on a courier and how long they have been standing there, which is the number that quietly wrecks your ratings on the apps. Numbered slots on the collection shelf and the order number on the bag do the rest.

Which brand is actually making money?

Revenue per brand is easy and it is not the question. The question is margin, and it is harder in a dark kitchen because the rent, the two chefs and the electricity are shared by all three. Eclyde gives you sales, order counts and item mix per brand, so you can see the brand taking 40% of the tickets on a fraction of the food cost, or the one that only ever sells after eleven at night. What it will not do is carve up your rent for you. Deciding how to split shared cost is still your call, and anyone who tells you their software does that honestly is guessing.

Can you test a new brand without much risk?

New menu, new ordering page, trading the same week. Run it six weeks on the same kit, the same team and the same fryer, and read the numbers per brand at the end. If it does not work, switch it off and you have lost the food cost and some time. There is no per-brand fee on either plan, no new tablet and no new till, which is the whole point of testing a concept in a kitchen you already pay for.

Not covered here? Just ask us.

Is there a charge for each brand?

No. Run one brand or five, the price is the same: €59 a month plus 5% per order on Flexible, or €169 a month billed annually at 0% commission on Flat Rate. Each brand gets its own ordering page, menu and reporting inside the one account.

Can it cope with a few hundred orders a night?

Yes, and the honest answer is that your kitchen and your couriers will hit their limit long before the software does. What matters more at that volume is that the till keeps working when the connection drops, which it does, syncing everything once the line is back.

Do marketplace orders come into the same display?

Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat orders land in the same queue as your direct ones, with the brand and the platform on the ticket. That is usually the first thing a multi-brand kitchen wants, because it retires the tablet shelf.
